Research Project Name
Design Equity Through Policy Action
What We Did
Within the design community, licensure is intended to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our communities — yet for generations, greater structural inequality has made design complicit in enabling poor outcomes for Black individuals. Our research sought to uncover real-world examples where systemic racism has notably led to design injustice, while also identifying existing practices and policies that elevate the way we design to create an optimal experience for all communities.
