Wyndham Garden Hotel, Lagoa Santa

For Wyndham’s first appearance in Brazil, Gensler is designing this luxury conference hotel in the metropolis of Belo Horizonte. Catering to international business travelers and local vacationers alike, the 411-key Wyndham Garden Hotel includes an eight-story hotel tower with a double-height, grotto-inspired lobby, convention center, two restaurants, a full fitness center and a roof garden offering panoramic views of the Espinhaço Mountains. Green spaces, clear vision glass and al fresco dining create fluidity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Inspired by local caves, rock formations and copper mining, the design includes a glass canopy and podium supporting the tower; copper, mesh and oil-rubbed aluminum materials and native landscaping—drawing regional heritage into the quintessentially "Wyndham experience."
