Wafra Seef

Appointed to design Wafra Seef, Gensler worked closely with Wafra Real Estate to create a retail center unique to the region exuding quality, modern simplicity and understated elegance. The center's innovative concept and schematic design is based on a shell-and-core system that maximizes leasing opportunities, increases utilization of outdoor space, and contributes to efficient circulation in the lobby and dining areas. Inspired by the notion of connectivity, smooth transitions between drop-off and ground floor terraces in the form of sloped walkways were integrated into the form of the site, while a strong linear axis between street entrance and the ocean allows for clear views from nearly all occupied locations. Completing the project is an extensive landscape design concept that includes outdoor furnishings and lighting specifically selected to promote tranquility alongside the dining terraces.
