When Tokyu Recreation relocated its head office as part of Tokyo’s Shibuya district urban redevelopment project, the company wanted its new office environment to enable more creative work styles. Tokyu Recreation collaborated with Gensler to envision a workplace design that supports business development and aligns with the entertainment brand’s corporate vision. The modern workplace design is rooted in the idea that having fun is the essence of entertainment. Each floor features collaborative spaces of varying sizes and shapes, plus movable furniture and wall systems, to encourage staff to exchange information and ideas swiftly and constantly. The layout’s flexible design allows for evolving, multi-purpose use from hosting informal meetings to company events. In shifting away from conventional office spaces featuring partitions, the adaptable design of Tokyu Recreation’s new head office more authentically promotes the company's motto of, “communication, collaboration, creation, plus focus,” across all organizational boundaries.

東急グループのエンターテイメント事業領域を担う東急レクリエーションは、今回の渋谷地区の再開発に伴うオフィス移転を機に、経営ビジョンに沿った事業展開を後押しするような新たなワークスタイルを実現できる環境を求めていた。 エンターテイメントライフをデザインする企業を目指し、人と繋がり自ら仕事を創るクリエイティブ人材を推奨する場を求める同社に対し、ゲンスラーはエンターテイメントの本質である「Fun（楽しむ）」をベースにしたワークプレイスをデザインした。

全てのフロアに様々なサイズや形のコラボスペースを用意し、可動式家具やパネルを設置したことで、情報やアイデアの共有がいつでも素早くできるようになった。 また、こうしたスペースはフレキシブルにレイアウトを変更できるため、カジュアルな打ち合わせから社内イベントまで、さまざまなシーンに対応できる空間となっている。 これまでの間仕切りの多い空間では容易でなかった、部門を超えた「Communication, Collaboration, Creation＋Focus」を推進し、よりクリエイティブな働き方を支援できる環境となった。
