The Current at CIBC SQUARE

With a focus on engaging employees through health and wellness amenities, Ivanhoé Cambridge and Hines called on Gensler to create a fitness centre at CIBC SQUARE that offers an elevated workplace experience. With soaring floor-to-ceiling windows offering incredible views, The Current evokes the calming elements of a spa and the hospitality quality of a hotel, while still maintaining a connection to the urban context of Toronto. Utilising exposed ceilings and a monochromatic palette, the high-end gym expresses a refined industrial aesthetic. Maple hardwood floors give a subtle nod to traditional gymnasium flooring, while also contributing the ethereal feeling of a spa. The changing rooms and shower facilities provide an atmosphere that is welcoming, comfortable, and meets the members' every need. The Current at CIBC SQUARE is a reflection of Ivanhoé Cambridge and Hines’ collective values and ethos, manifested through a bespoke concept where employees can enjoy a bit of respite.
