Texas Medical Center, TMCx

Adjoined to the renowned Texas Medical Center, the accelerator, or TMCx, is developed to stimulate breakthroughs in biomedicine by housing and mentoring small startup companies developing life-changing technologies. More than 50 companies can be accommodated in the open and reconfigurable workspace at the center of this thoughtfully repurposed Nabisco Factory. Reception, hospitality and training spaces link to the main workspace through a bright, fluorescent-lit portal symbolizing the creative journey to the “eureka” moment. A range of collaboration spaces, multiple conference rooms and a large presentation/event space are provided – all spaces are open and secure 24/7. Originally envisioned as a temporary workspace, Gensler’s creative vision motivated the client to turn it into a permanent facility.
