Steamboat Base Village Redevelopment
Steamboat Springs, Colorado
As a result of decades of evolution, the Steamboat Resort Base Area was previously comprised of a mixture of architectural styles, physical conditions, uses, and ownership. A $135 million investment will align the Steamboat Resort base area with the world-class, on-mountain experience offered to skiers and resort visitors. Gensler’s design relocates the gondola terminal to make space for a true public base area. Aligning with the expectations of today’s travelers, the Steamboat Springs ski base area introduces space to incorporate an experiential path connecting to the reimagined public transit center, a building that houses resort guest services, a plaza, stage, food hall, and a new public ice rink.
