This three-story, 3,000-space parking plaza at the San Diego International Airport is not a typical parking structure. Designed by Gensler with state-of-the-art sustainable features, the healthy and inviting facility provides travelers with a safe and enjoyable start and finish to their journey. The Parking Plaza incorporates various strategies to significantly reduce energy consumption while also promoting a more engaging experience. Art installations and light wells aid wayfinding and enhance the pedestrian experience while sophisticated PARC sensors help drivers know where to park. Underground storm pipes collect and store stormwater from the parking structure making the project Zero Net Water.
