Pujiang International Financial Plaza

For the public spaces of the Pujiang International Finance Plaza—an impressive tower to be located in one of Shanghai’s emerging districts—Gensler increased light in the formerly dark lobby to draw people in and engage them with the space.The undulating waves of the Huangpu River, mimicked by Gensler's design of the tower's exterior, echo again through the interior’s curving forms. Light now washes the space  from the custom ceiling perforated lighting, creating the effect of refracted light shining through water. Unique materials—color-gradient laminated glass, a metal sculpture and triple-layered glass—were developed to give this space a unique identity.
