Navy Pier

For years, Navy Pier existed as Chicago’s warm-weather playground and largest family-friendly tourist draw. To leverage the uniqueness of the pier’s 50 acres as it approached its 100-year anniversary, Gensler conceptualized and designed a master vision that would establish the pier as a global destination and solidify its financial sustainability for generations to come. Gensler’s multi-layered vision celebrates and showcases Chicago’s vitality, incorporating extensive greenscaping, an expanded children’s museum, a re-imagined and lushly landscaped Crystal Garden, an expanded Chicago Shakespeare Theater, a refreshed Ferris wheel, an elevated retail experience and a world-class entertainment destination at the pier’s end.
