With her work on law firms, corporate workplaces and product design, Mariela pushes current design thinking to better serve her clients’ needs. She works across the firm from her Washington, DC, base to elevate the level of our design by sharing knowledge, developing talent, and promoting innovation. She also plays an integral part in research efforts such as Gensler’s ReDesign Law initiative, which examines the shifting business models in the legal industry and proposes new design responses to keep law firms competitive. She has won numerous awards from the International Interior Design Association, Industrial Designers Society of America, Washington Building Congress, and the American Institute of Architects. She has also been published in international trade publications such as Interiors, L’Arca Edizioni, Legal Times, and Interior Design. A recognized thought leader, Mariela has spoken at the NeoCon East Fair and the IIDA Tour, and she has served as a teacher and visiting critic at universities in the U.S. and South America.
