LAX West Gates at Tom Bradley Terminal

LAX West Gates at Tom Bradley International Terminal is part of a multi-billion-dollar modernization program at Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) to provide a world-class travel experience, improve operation efficiency, and provide faster connections and improved accessibility for passengers. In a design-build collaboration with Corgan, the 1.7 million-square-foot facility accommodates 15 terminal gates and serves as both a domestic concourse connected to the Central Terminal Area and an international concourse expansion of the Tom Bradley Terminal to meet current and future demands.

Sustainability is a key driver in the design of LAX West Gates – from construction to the long-term operation of the airport facility. The aviation project is anticipated to meet LEED Silver certification and Cal Green Tier 1 requirements, with more than 75% of construction waste estimated to be diverted from landfills and recycled. Abundant, energy-saving natural light brightens the new concourse, which features a sense of “mid-century jet age” modern simplicity that complements the ocean wave theme of the airport with a stunning, “breaking wave” curvilinear roof.
