KIPP NYC

Bronx, New York

In partnership with the Robin Hood Foundation, this NYC college preparatory school offers Bronx residents access to an excellent public education. The five-story, state-of-the-art building combines classrooms, science labs, art studio, dance studio and tech lab with a library, offices, gyms and a 900-seat “cafetorium” with a  kitchen. An acoustically treated façade blocks sound from an adjacent heavily used artery and railroad tracks. Natural daylight infuses all instructional spaces, and furnished impromptu meeting areas on each corridor encourage collaboration among students and faculty, to create very different kind of educational experience for this neighborhood.
