Hasan A. Syed, GBCA, GMRAIA

Hasan brings design leadership to a wide range of architectural and research-driven projects. He believes that design should combine aesthetics and elegance driven from performance and human emotional connection inspiring life, work, and innovation. As a Principal and a Design Director in our Shanghai office, Hasan promotes a culture of design exploration and the open exchange of new ideas and is responsible for advancing each project’s design approach. To his role as a Firmwide Leader of Gensler’s Commercial Office Building Developers Practice, Hasan brings 30 years of experience in concept design and project development. Hasan has assembled a portfolio that includes the design and planning of large-scale high-rise towers, office buildings, mixed-use developments, and cultural projects. A Green Star-accredited professional, Hasan studied Sustainability Design at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. He earned a Master of Architecture, M.Arch. from METU, and a Masters in Research at the University of Florence.
