Duncan Paterson

Duncan has devoted more than 30 years to creating vibrant, experience-driven architecture. A global leader of Gensler’s Lifestyle Sector practices, his expertise is reflected in a vast portfolio of major mixed-use retail centers, hotels, large-scale entertainment, and urban plans throughout the world. In his years at Gensler, Duncan has championed the leadership of the firm’s Mixed Use & Retail Centers practice. As a Studio Leader and Design Director in our Los Angeles office, Duncan promotes a culture of design exploration and the open exchange of new ideas. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers, and he contributes to industry dialogues on the future of mixed-use and the evolution of retail centers.
