Delta Sky Way at LAX
Los Angeles, California
Delta Air Lines’ redevelopment of Terminals 2 and 3 at LAX represents a strategic move to position both the airline and the airport for a thriving future. The new airport terminal design focuses on promoting flexibility and elevating the guest experience for travelers.
The previously separate and unlinked Terminals 2 and 3 are now seamlessly connected through a centralized headhouse, which includes a technologically advanced ticketing lobby, a consolidated security screening checkpoint, baggage claim, and a Delta Sky Club. Premium airport retail and elevated dining concessions, as well as enhanced connectivity and spacious seating areas, cater to the diverse needs of travelers. The terminal design incorporates a blend of color, texture, lighting, and public art to enrich and humanize the travel experience.
As the overall LAX campus is undergoing a major transformation, it was crucial to balance Delta’s brand and vision with the design language of the larger airport. A new facade unifies Terminals 2 and 3 — creating a front door for Delta customers that facilitates access from both the curb and APM. Additionally, the two new Delta terminals are now connected directly to Tom Bradley International Terminal, which reduces a passenger’s connection time and eliminates the need for bussing between terminals.
