Centro Internacional de Negocios (CIN)
Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico
Together with CIN’s developer, Gensler designed this new 40,000-square-foot office building in the border city of Juárez with the vision that it become Mexico’s first LEED-Gold certified building. It succeeded—also earning designation as the smartest building in Mexico. Built with environmentally-friendly materials, the sleek and spacious building employs lighting controls, motion sensors and surge protectors. Energy usage can be monitored on a range of scales throughout the building, and, among other programs encouraging water and energy conservation, a maintenance manual urges the use of non-toxic and biodegradable products. Beyond its own functionality, CIN actively serves its community as a model in sustainable design.
