1540 Broadway Shared Amenity Floor

As part of an overall building improvement initiative, Edge Fund Advisors sought Gensler’s expertise to create an updated shared amenities space on the eighth floor of its flagship New York property at 1540 Broadway. The space is tucked behind a series of intricate structural trusses featuring some of Times Square’s famous digital signage. The concept, "Behind the Billboards," emphasizes this unusual vantage point by translating the dynamic geometry into a graphic language that complements the angular, 16-sided floorplate. The Broadway motif extends from the floor’s name — Stage 8 — to wayfinding signage directing visitors upstage, downstage, and center stage. Stained concrete flooring, bold paint colors, and a changeable "marquee" sign contribute to the theatrical ambiance. The energetic, multi-use space and updated offerings help employers to appeal to a next-gen talent base.
